Blonde Moment...

When saying something stupid or failing in something, I say: 'I'm having a blonde moment.' Or: 'It's time to color my hair blond.'

Blond girls being dumb. It's the most used joke subject and biggest stereotype. We all laugh about it. But is it true? Does it mean that also blond men are dumb? Does it also include girls who bleach their hair blond, but are a brunette or a redhead?

In the far history the upper classes tended to be darker haired than the peasantry, likely due to the period tendency to marry within one's own class and the fact that lower class people were far more exposed to sunlight. Blondes having less braincells would mean that the people in some countries are more stupid then in others. 80% or more of the people in Norway, Sweden, Iceland and Finland are blond. Studies suggest that blondes are easier to seduce. They flirt more than others and have less trouble with going one step further on a date.
Movies like 'Legally Blonde' and 'Clueless' doesn't help to remove the mark on stereotyping blond as dumb. Singer Jessica Simpson became worldwide famous acting in her real life show 'Newly weds.' She made comments like: ''Is this chicken? Or is this fish? I know it's tuna, but it says Chicken by the Sea." She also was wondering whether buffalo wings are made from buffalo. I would say Jessica is one smart lady. She gave herself this image of being dumb and it brought her a big bankaccount.

I've been born being a blond, but growing older my hair got darker leaving it light brown. I've bleached it leaving me a sexy blond. Colored my hair into a passionate brunette and a fury redhead. I've never got less attention being one of them. But I did notice a difference in people being surprised that smart words could come out of my mouth, being a blonde lady. If you ask me, stupidity comes in every hair color.

The negative image that adheres on blondes hasn't changed the fact that blonde is the number one selling hair dye, leaving girls love perocide eeeh...perroxide...eeeeh peroxide...
